WHAT HAPPENED?
After enjoying a winter break in France, Lionesses star Earps returned to action on Tuesday with a visit to Fleury. She was handed a starting berth, with the 31-year-old now fully adjusted to life in Paris on the back of her 2024 move from WSL side Manchester United.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Earps stepped out of her comfort zone in a bid to challenge for more major honours, with the Euro 2022 winner fully embracing a new challenge. Firework displays in the stands may take some getting used to, but they are a staple part of boisterous support in mainland Europe.

WHAT EARPS SAID
Paris Saint-Germain fans that made the short trip to Fleury-Merogis in the south of the French capital ensured that they put on a show in the stands as Earps and Co endeavoured to pick up precious points. They had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate, with Earps posting on social media afterwards: “Kicking off 2025 with a cleano. Fully focused and onto the next.”

WHAT NEXT?
PSG’s Women’s team will be back in action on Sunday when facing Angers in the last-32 of the Coupe de France Feminine. Earps will be hoping for another shutout there, if she sees more game time, with peak form being sought ahead of a European Championship title defence with England this summer.
